“I regard the theater as a serious business, one that makes or should make man more human, which is to say, less alone.”
-Arthur Miller.
The curtain goes up on the newest rendition of the highly regarded 1953 musical “The Colder Troubles” in six weeks. While the show isn’t as well known as some others, it has been performed many times on and off major touring circuits for years.
It’s first show with the brand new cast, crew and director for this run will open at the Dreamland Concert Hall, one of the classic old theatres of the metropolitan city of Roseburgh.
The press are already geared up for a production to remember and everyone is talking about how it will be a run that will last years.
The script is witty, touching, poignant and carries with it the power of the theme of the musical, which tells a story about a struggling family, heartbreak, love, hope and redemption. Many people have said that the main characters are some of the most realistic depictions of the human condition in modern theatre.
This game will be a mixture of interpersonal drama (my favourite), romance (possibly) and something mysterious that needs discovering and exploring!
