For as long as anyone can remember, the city of Tyleth has been a haven for young mages seeking to hone their craft. Nestled in the mountains and surrounded by forests, it provides much-needed space and privacy for practice, as well as materials for working stronger magics. And it is here where aspiring young mages can seek a mentor to teach them more in the ways of magic. Finally, there is Castle Kinae, where the Archmage lives - with the great library that is a vast resource for those who seek knowledge and wisdom.
Every few years, the Archmage seeks apprentices to teach, furthering the study of magic so that more may learn and grow. The last Choosing was barely a year ago, and two were picked of the many who came. But now, it is said that the Archmage seeks apprentices once more.
However, it is a most unusual circumstance. The call has been put out, but it is said that any person who seeks to become a mage may present themselves at the appointed hour. Even those who have had no training may come, for the Archmage seeks potential and not skill.
And so you have found yourself at the city of Tyleth. Whether you are rich or poor, whether your powers have developed or not - you have responded to the call. Your reasons for seeking this apprenticeship are your own, but all are welcome.
Why the sudden change to what had been a long standing tradition?
More importantly, who will the Archmage choose this time?
