Every tavern across the Twelve Kingdoms has heard tales of Victoria Dawnblade. The half-elven maiden is a living legend, known as much for her haunting beauty as she is her skill in battle. Many a horrible beast has been dispatched by her hand, and many a royal’s heart has been broken when she moved on in search of new adventures. For it was in her nature to seek, to wander, to always search for a noble quest that would etch her journeys in the annals of history.

You are a hireling, the sort of person that the bards conspicuously leave out of the story. Perhaps you are a working-class veteran of many campaigns just trying to earn a living, or maybe you’re some halfwit picked up at the last tavern to haul baggage, or maybe a starry-eyed fan hoping to prove yourself. Whatever your reasons, you’re the one who has to take care of all the unpleasant business before and after the call to adventure.
