GAME IN PROGRESS - SEEKING NEW PONIES!
A new group of ponies are being flown in to replace the ones who had a mishap– er, I mean, decided they were a bad fit for the job. Yes.

Ladies and gentlecolts! Welcome to Dream Valley. This massive stretch of wilderness used to be home to a number of ponies, but the majority of them have long since left. All that remains are a few scattered ruins, some overtaken by the native creatures, others completely abandoned. One such ruin that has recently been reclaimed and is in the process of being rebuilt is known as Paradise Estate. This place is to be your home.
You, along with a small, elite group, have been hoof-chosen by Princess Celestia herself. A number of strange happenings have been reported in Dream Valley recently, and it is believed that an ancient evil may be stirring in this place. While most of the magical beings said to have inhabited this area – flutter ponies, sea ponies, bushwoolies and grundles, to name a few – have long since slipped into legend, there is a chance there is a seed of truth in it all. It is your job to explore and report. In addition to the troublesome worries, there is also potential to gain new allies for Canterlot. That is, assuming the team and the estate staff can all get along well enough to get the job done.

I write in third-person past-tense. This is simply how I write. If you are more comfortable with present-tense in your posts, that is fine. Keep it third-person, please.
I plan to harken back to the original 1980’s My Little Pony cartoon plots for this game, giving them some new twists and amping them up to Friendship is Magic status. Each chapter will be like an “episode,” so we will end up with a mix of slice-of-life character interaction tales and more adventure-driven pieces, hopefully in equal measure.
The tone of this story will be mostly like the current cartoon, perhaps getting a wee bit darker at times, as plot and story flow may require. Overall it will stay mostly light-hearted, generally with nothing much heavier than things that have happened in the canon series. (The Queen Chrysalis episodes are my yardstick for this, so nothing more creepy or violent than that – which I feel this story had a ton of both things in it.) Please keep language appropriate as well.
CHARACTER CREATION
Characters should be fan-made ponies or fan renditions of old canon ponies who have not appeared in the new series. I have reserved these classic character for narrator NPCS: Wind Whistler, Mimic, Shady, Lemon Drop, Paradise, and Ember. Others are wide open.
Characters should not be close friends or relatives to any of the Mane Six, although they could have heard of some of the brave things the group has done.
All characters should be made to fit well into the world of Friendship is Magic, as well as the outline of the game plot. (Example: a fan rendition of Shady can’t keep her backstory of knowing Molly and Megan, because there are no humans in Friendship is Magic, or any of the bushwoolies, because any species that has not shown up in Friendship is Magic should be considered legend in this game.)
Earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns are fine, but no alicorn characters. Non-pony characters may be considered, but will be judged carefully. Half-breed crosses of any kind (half pony half dragon, for example) will be instantly turned down.
You can also play classic ponies who are of a special type - Twinkle Eye, Sparkle Pony, Twice-as-Fancy, etc - BUT they must start out the game as a standard Friendship is Magic pony. Their special appearance will be later granted through gameplay.
Make sure that your pony has a talent that Princess Celestia would feel is fitting for this mission. This does not mean that everyone has to be explorers, as there are sure to be a number of jobs needed for reclaiming a whole valley. Be creative! Your pony may not even know why she/he was chosen when they first arrive. Feel free to make custom cards. Nature cards should pertain to whatever power their Cutie Mark indicates. Please use an image of your character’s Cutie Mark for the image on this card. (Photos of old school My Little Pony marks are acceptable. A Cutie Mark you drew up with crayons is acceptable. Just please have one.)

NPCs and OTHERS CHARACTERS
When challenge outcomes are won, light posing of other’s characters and the NPCs is fine, particularly when it’s obvious, (ie “they all ran out of the way of the cave-in”) but complete control of another character’s actions, thoughts, words, emotions, etc. will not be allowed. Each player retains control of their character. No god-modding, please.
