You are in Aratha on Wyre, an ancient world with cutthroat Humans, mysterious Cenden, sentient Thrade, ethereal Valdren, tenacious Kydrossi, and barbaric Initari races (see nature cards).
The players will begin in Pirren, the capital city of the Kingdom of Eleiut. The throne has been recently usurped, and unrest runs rampant. The sudden assassination was a joined effort of the Armies of Depths and the fierce new King, Aquistiarus. Eleiut is under tight reign and seeing the beginnings of darkness creeping from Pirren outward. The Kingdom is dominated by the Human race, and is otherwise populated by a small percentage of the Valdren and rogue Initari.
You have been trapped and thrown into Pirren’s arenas–or perhaps you have been here for a while. You might be a rogue Initar, cut off from your empire; a hated Cend, whose power is to be feared; a young Kydros, looking for adventure… it is up to you.
Yet one thing unites you all: your desire to save Aratha from the war raging between the goddess Aratha, who rules the domains of light and life, and the Armies of Depths, who threaten to suffocate the land. You must find like-minded individuals and stop Lesan, the leader of Depths, before your home is ruined and there is no place left on Wyre to live.
But first, you will have to find your way out of the arenas…
MAJOR DEITIES
Aratha is a living goddess residing on the sunpaths of Aratha, a floating island suspended above the Falls in the center of the Freelands of Naora. Her domains are life and light, and her worshipers attribute the creation of the continent Aratha to her.
Lethe is a living goddess residing on the Veldry River in the Kingdom of Eleiut. Her domain is all water, and she is the most fickle of deities.
Nementh is the living wanderer god on Aratha. His domains are travel, paths, and forests.
Eskil is one of the dead gods of Kaldree. He is said to have flown to the North above Vail and abandoned the continent, but he still maintains a loyal following which believes that he is actually on Aratha presiding over Depths. Some radicals believe Lesan, the leader of Depths, is Eskil himself. His domains are death and darkness.
MINOR DEITIES
Up to the player! I will allow creation of minor deities. If a dead god from Kaldree, no limitation (they may even have been a major deity). If a living god on Aratha, please make sure they are lesser than the four listed above.
Notes on character creation:
-This is a custom world and card set, so please read the descriptions carefully!
-I will be looking for 4-6 players with different strengths, weaknesses, and subplots. Feel free to create your own for those, but please choose one of the existing Natures. There may be more than one player with the same Nature.
-Since the races are invented, I understand if your avatar looks Human even if it is supposed to be another race.
