Bio	I am writing a historical fantasy novel, and it is going so well that I am avoiding it by being on Storium again. Thanks for asking. Principles Good writing should be understandable. That is, it should be clear even when it is not simple. Metaphors should illuminate rather than obscure. If your poetic imagery makes it harder for the reader to follow the events or ideas in a scene, take it out. Character and plot are intertwined. Character actions drive the plot; plot events develop the characters. When editing, take out anything that you only wrote to show off how clever you are. People are generally less impressed by that sort of thing than you expect. Don’t follow writing advice unless it resonates with you. Write the book/story/post you want to write.
