the world of Aegis is an alternate history world where the Greek city-states survived as independant lands as did several other ancient civilizations around Greece into the future.
it is now the first year of the 750th Olympiad (2225 in the Gregorian calender) and the Greek states are doing well, but many of the soldiers and minotaurs (a type of battle cyborgs) are starting to go berserk. The oracles, relying on their computers have determined that this strange phenomenon, causing armies to turn on one another and for riots to suddenly break out in the streets comes from a single source.
The threat extends over all of Helos and even beyond to places lik Persia and the Scythian steppe, and so th leaders of the poleis hae gathered a task force from around Helos, and even possibly from other lands to figure out where this strange tech madness has come from and what can be done to stop it.
Aegis is a world that combines cyberpunk with alternate history where the lands that survived in the Helenic period persisted in a relatively stable form well into the future with growth in technologies to make it a futuristic society.
