A group a people go about their daily lives in Austin, Texas as they normally would, but as they do so, strange news stories start appearing. First it’s sketchy creepy pastas on online forums, then there are testimonials of weird encounters. Gradually stories begin working their way through sensationalist radio shows and tabloids to more respectable papers and magazines. It becomes clear that a strange illness has gone global.
Details are sketchy, but it appears to be a virus that causes severe headaches and lethargy, though there are rumors of some people feeling dozens of other symptoms. It’s a scary time, with people exceeding H1N1 levels of fear. But things have steadily gotten worse as people all over town start getting sick and going missing. Something is coming. Will you be prepared?
– This story will take place as the zombie apocalypse hits Austin, Texas. Please skim the wikipedia page for Austin if you’re interested in playing and haven’t ever been there. The gist of what you need to know is that it’s one of the two most politically liberal cities in Texas, has lots of musicians, college students, and tech companies, a population of almost 2 million, and has a very unique atmosphere. I chose this city mainly because of my familiarity with it and the area around it.
– I have all the players I’m looking for and we’ve started playing, but if you’d like to submit characters, I might work them into the story at some point.
– I’m capable of starting new scenes daily if players move fast enough. In my experience, games rarely move at the pace of 2-3 scenes a week, so I’m not increasing the game speed. That said, I’d like it if you can post a few times a week at least. Please give me an idea of how often you plan on posting in the comments for the author when you submit your character.
