It’s a dark and stormy night…
Actually, it isn’t stormy at all. Nor is it dark. And it definitely isn’t night. In fact, it’s a perfectly temperate summer morning in New England. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the grounds at Soundhaven Manor were impeccably manicured just the day before.
Everything is set for the Lady Soundhaven’s Annual Charity Garden Party Weekend. It’s the biggest event around, and this year the Lady has held nothing back and barred no expense.
The entirety of the multi-acre estate of Soundhaven has been painstakingly transformed into the ultimate socialite’s playground. A band shell has been set up for the bands who will be preforming throughout the weekend event near the greenhouse. The River Guest House as well as some of the other out buildings have been set up as temporary luxury lodgings for those elite invitees travelling from abroad. The old farmstead has been transformed into a micro brewery over the last two years and is now finally open, serving Soundhaven’s own brews. Of course the winery is open for tours like every year, as is the historical manor house. Tours will run every half hour. Even the old tennis courts, boccie fields, and the surrounding leisurely hiking trails are being utilized for the grand event. And of course the hedge maze has been updated for those who love a classic challenge, and this year it should be more difficult than ever.
Indeed it’s bound to be the best Garden Party held at Soundhaven in years. How could anything possibly go wrong?
