Cattle die, and kinsmen die,And so one dies one’s self; One thing now that never dies,The fame of a dead man’s deeds.
Baldur is dead, and Ragnarok has begun. It is the Sword age, when Sun and Moon shine no more; devoured by celestial wolves. Fimbulwinter reigns while brother fights brother. The giants of Jotunheim, and the riders of Muspelheim wait for the signs to launch their attack on Asgard in order to finally have their vengeance for the crimes committed against them by the Aesir and the Vanir.
The gods make ready for war. They know that they will not survive, but are willing to die, that the realms might be free from the jotun’s cruel hatred. Yet Odin the All-Father continues to plot, and to swell the ranks of the Einherjar with his necromatic magics.
