Commentary

Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
Okay, in case you haven't looked at my profile, this is the first time for me running or even playing a Storium game, so having a challenge this big is a bit of an experiment for me. My reasoning was that I'd like to wrap at least an initial investigation for everyone up before the PCs went haring off after a lead thrown up by one of the investigations. [delete]

Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
That being said, if you want to split up, I figure you should be able to. Just add a scene change signifier if you're going to be in a different location to the last scene. E.g. Meanwhile in the club... [delete]

Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
Also, don't be afraid to learn things in the middle, or even at the start, of this. The outcome is whether you stir up the hornet's nest, not whether you learn anything. If you want ideas for things you could learn, feel free to ask questions in the comments. (I'm also happy to roll with whatever you feed me. As I've previously said, I do have an idea of what's going on, but I figure that this format works best if the players add their own twists.) [delete]

Scene change identifier? [delete]

Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
I'm not sure if it will work, but the basic idea is that if not all the PCs want to be involved in one aspect of the investigation, they can chip in somewhere else, just so long as everyone can tell where the various PCs are, and what they're doing. So if you and, say, Amara are tracking down underworld contacts, Eric can be searching the net for information and Midori can be charming a private security captain. This may be really bad idea, but I'm hoping it can keep everyone involved in a scene that has a distinct possibility of sprawling, like this one. [delete]

In general, if anyone has any constructive criticism/general suggestions about the way I'm running the game , I'd love to hear them. [delete]

huesmann (narrator) (host) (You):
No, no, I get that part. I'm just asking for guidance on how to indicate, e.g. that Eric and Midori are off doing something . [delete]

Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
Sorry. :) My best suggestion is that if the previous post wasn't focused on the same locale, start your post with something like 'Meanwhile, in the gangers' hideout...' Basically, something to make it very clear where your post is set. [delete]

It'll take Eric a little while to pull up his company records [delete]

@Amara: should we make some attempt at disguise? [delete]

Kithri (narrator) (host) (You):
@huesmann That's not a bad idea. Someone's after us, after all. [delete]

Kithri (narrator) (host) (You):
@huesmann Shall I deal with the disguises, or do you want to? [delete]

Go ahead, you're the pro in that area. [delete]

Kithri (narrator) (host) (You):
I'm not sure how long Richards and Amara have spent doing their thing, but at the appropriate time point, everyone else receives a message with the key facts regarding her abduction: professional team, specific target, biomarker test. [delete]

Leigh (narrator) (host) (You):
@Tamoline - I couldn't remove the card from the post, and I didn't want to updet the flow too much, so I've added a subsequent post, and if you could take it as the 'Great Sensors' card used for that, that would be great. :) [delete]

Quck note - for best results on a comparison test, you'll want samples from all five of you. [delete]

@huesmann: Do you want to start the investigation of Richards' last known location, or would you prefer me to start it off? [delete]

Just been busy this weekend. Trying to cram way too much into the two free days. :) [delete]

Leigh (narrator) (host) (You):
Would it be prudent to have a discussion about the overall arc of the story at this point? If we are in at least rough agreement about who is behind this and where we are going, then we can explore where to take it. I'm a bit wary of progressing the ideas to far forward and veering wildly from everyone else's vision of where the story is headed. [delete]
05/12/2014
Tamoline (narrator) (host) (You):
In general, I really haven't progressed too far beyond the ideas already sketched out - that there is one organisation snatching specific people for Whisper-related experiments, and there's another organisation - possibly the current proprietors, possibly interested in becoming the current proprietors - who performed a snatch, grab and destroy anything left. In specific, I have some ideas for what the comparison test will throw up, if you want to have me narrate it. [delete]

@huesmann: I'll let you describe what we find on the security footage. [delete]

@Leigh: You can go ahead and assume Eric will hook up the deck if you want to describe what Mask finds. [delete]
