A small crew, manning a mining station in the asteroid belt, drilling ore out of a giant space rock floating between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, are concerned with the day-to-day of their work. They each have their specialties, their wishes and their conflicts with the others.
Then, one day, all that changes.
Setting
Asteroid mining in this setting is an international project built from many countries combining their interests and trying to ensure humanity’s continued survival by spreading across the solar system. First steps involve Earth orbit habitats, and they need raw materials, which are most easily found in space.
Characters can be from any nation, and can have loosely speaking any agenda. The game takes place in 2078, and a lot has changed. Earth is a mess of climate changes, overpopulation and the remnants of several decades of increasing unrest and pressure. The UN-based Diaspora project is an attempt at solving some of these problems by giving humanity a common goal and increased survival chances in one sweep, while advancing science and technology in the process.
This, then, requires rough-handed people to go out into the black and dig holes in big rocks.
