This is The Katherine Dandy Reconditioning Center for Delinquent Minors, welcome! Miles and miles of desert expanse have been converted from barren wastelands to the amazing, scenic center that it is now! For over 150 years, The Center has been a wonderful place for children ages 11-18 to retrain themselves and rework their lives into something better before they destroy them as adults. There are all sorts of amazing things to do, from restorative yoga on the cliffside, to gardening and cooking, to therapeutic exploration exercises. All that’s required is a yearly fee for attending students, and your precious child to attend the camp!
Well, that’s what the flier says.
If you’re here, someone who loves you also probably thinks you’re teenage trash. The Center is nothing like it’s advertised. You’re sleeping in dirty old tents with rotting cots, there are mysterious fenced-off holes all across the property, and the staff has absolutely no qualms about corporal punishment for the kids who have been sent there. Quite frankly, it’s like a living hell–and yet, all the alumni of The Center come back as happy, successful individuals.
But they all seem to smile the same way. And the eerie emptiness in the voices of not only the alumni, but the staff, is disconcerting.
Rebellion is punished with ‘reconditioning.’ Not a single person has gone into reconditioning and come out the same. They say that all a child really needs is one reconditioning session to ‘turn their life around.’ But your view on the whole situation is a little bit different. Quite frankly, it just doesn’t sit right with you. Something about The Katherine Dandy Reconditioning Center for Delinquent Minors, aside from it’s self-confessed purpose, seems wrong to you.
Many secrets lie underneath the surface of the sun-scorched sands. And for better or for worse, you’ve gotten it into your head to find out just what they are. You suspect that if you fail, there will be worse to come for you than just the ominous reconditioning sessions.
I’m looking for 3-4 players with teenaged characters who are willing to be flexible and don’t mind some touchy themes in their stories. This is going to be relaxed pace to allow for lots of lush characterization. Early chapters will be less goal-oriented, later chapters will take on a faster pace an will be more goal oriented. During character creation, feel free to edit cards as you see fit.
NOTE FOR CHARACTER CREATION: Your character is allowed a personal item from home that will be a starter item card. Please specify it in the background information on your character, otherwise I’ll just stick them with something that they scrounged up from where they’re staying.
