Indian Subcontinent - The Rashtrakuta Empire
826 C.E.
The Empire is hungry. Famine has gripped the land for nearly a year. Farmlands are dry, livestock are dying. The Empire lives off imported goods, and those grow more expensive by the month.
The Raja, Amoghavarsha, has been on the throne for 10 years. They were ten years of peace and cultural growth. The ‘boy king,’ as he was called when he ascended the throne, brought the Empire his father conquered into an age of prosperity. That was, until the famine.
You have been called by the Raja to fulfill a sacred task for the Empire. You may be called on to travel far, to face unknown enemies. What hides in this once beautiful land?
Narrator Notes: This is an occult/fantasy story set in Medieval India.
I encourage you to use historical inspiration for your character and backstory, but I do not expect this to be perfectly historically accurate. Research is appreciated, but not required. The focus will be writing a fun story, not getting things perfect in the setting.
I’d like to see players use the Natures cards I’ve created. If you have an idea for something not reflected in the pre-made cards, please contact me. I’m very flexible about Strengths/Weaknesses/Subplots. Those you are free to design as you see fit.
This game will run on the ‘epic’ side of length. There is an ending planned, but it might take a long while to get there.
This is an LGBT friendly game.
