Ever since the Accord of Lilygate, creatures of the fae have been offered protection and citizenship in the British Empire in exchange for revoking their illusions and pledging fealty to the Queen. In the last 30 years, the Empire has seen vast advances as faerie tricks are harnessed by foundry and laboratory. What Britannia is only just learning, however is that Magick always carries a cost. As all of the Queen’s loyal subjects across the globe prepare for her Diamond Jubilee, the Empire’s arcane debts begin to come due.

The game is going to be set in 1887, but it will be kind of a cultural mishmash of the Victorian era at large. Tech-wise the base level is about the same but with prototype inventions and magickal artifice extending it to around 1920. There have been major leaps particularly in steam technology with the smelting of infernum - an alchemical metal that maintains a heat just over 100c for several years making water the finite resource for steam power rather than coal. There have also been improvements in the yield capacity of spring steel allowing for very complex clockwork creations.
This will be a history-lite story as much intended to test out Storium as anything else. Feel free to take artistic liberties and holler if you have any questions: ianmatthewsmith@gmail.com
