I’m close.
It’s been two years since the convoy, and I’m so close. Abelson covered her tracks surprisingly well for a woman with half the Alliance looking for her. I’d almost admire her, if she wasn’t a fucking murderer.
She was using an alias - another one, gotta make sure to add it to the list - but my guy on the ground swears it’s her. He’s been good for info so far, and it’s the best lead I’ve had in a while.
Mason Station is an odd place for her to pop up. There’s not much going on out this way, beyond the junkyard. Could be that she’s just looking for a junker to fix up, but I don’t think she’d come so far to bank on any old scrap-heap.
So she must have finally managed it. I knew she was obsessed with the thing, but it’s hard to believe she might’ve actually found it. I was almost sure it had been scrapped by now, but if she thought it was just scrap, she wouldn’t have come out this far. She wouldn’t have risked being spotted for nothing. So she must’ve found it, right? She found the Lone Star.

Two years after events concerning a secretive convoy carrying military cargo resulted in the revelation that the Alliance Navy was complicit in a conspiracy to conceal the discovery of non-human advance technology, the ex-Alliance officer and current fugitive Helena Abelson sends out a call to some of the few people she can still trust. She has, after nearly two years of looking, managed to track down the infamous Lone Star.
Stories about the ship say she was a blockade runner, or that she was the fastest smuggling ship on the rim, or that she bombed the governor’s home on Temestir, destroyed the colony ship Yamato, and more. Passed from captain to captain for decades, it’s impossible to be sure what the ship has really done, and what is just old spacer’s tales.
For those that answer Abelson’s call, the legend is about to become very real.
Vast Beyond: Lone Star is a follow up to Vast Beyond, taking place two years after the events of the first game. This game is a character-focused science fiction drama where characters will take the role of the crew of the Lone Star, a legendary outlaw ship, under the leadership of Captain Helena Abelson. Their primary goal will be to uncover more information on a conspiracy that spans both decades and star systems.
Characters will be pushed to their limits as they seek to avoid the Alliance and find the truth.
The game draws inspiration from titles such as Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, and Ghost in the Shell (1995).
It is not required for new players to have read the first game.
See “Info for invitees and applicants” section for further details on the layout of the Lone Star.
