You awoke on the decaying remains of the INS Leviathan. It’s the only thing you’re sure of.
Upon the Rotting Deck is a science fiction story where players awaken on a massive, derelict ship with most of its crew and passengers dead–all except the players. They can remember only fragments of their history, if that, and are otherwise left to piece together their history, their mission, and what went wrong from the remnants of their ship, the Leviathan.
Players will have considerable freedom with this story, able to introduce elements as they think of them to enrich the plot. As always, the narrator will guide the story and push overall discovery, but will attempt to encourage independent creation.
A couple of hard rules about the setting.
The following things are prohibited: 1. Faster Than Light technology (the universe depends entirely on wormholes), 2. Alien Interbreeding (physiologies are not compatible), 3. Ancient progenitor races (No Protheans or Protoss or other nutty ‘master’ aliens who seeded the universe), 4. Planet buster or star destroyer weaponry, 5. Mankind unified under a single species-wide government. No such thing exists.
The following elements will be expected to appear at some point: 1. Psychic powers, 2. All-Digital Species
