To claim it, the one true successor must prove themself.

I won’t sugarcoat it. Not only is this a fandom, but it is the exact plot of Stardust. The Southern Isles from Disney’s Frozen are awaiting a new monarch. Despite the king having 13 queens throughout his rule, they are all dead or imprisoned and gone mad. Reign must be passed down to one of his offspring, yet the king is displeased that so many of his spawn have outlived him. Doubting the ambition and capability of any his progeny to take his place, king Westergaard makes one final decree and test:

“My kingdom and the entire fortune of the royal family goes to my last living son or daughter-in-law. Until only one of you remains, consider your status and the royal assets FROZEN!!”
