Civilization as we knew it is gone. A disease, which caused the human race to be reliant on a constant supply of a particular blood type(which is determined by their own blood type), made it impossible to maintain order. People panicked, and began attacking one another in desperation for blood.
Out of this chaos, a new pecking order was created, dictated by blood types.
Blood type A became reliant on daily consumption of blood type B, and vice versa. Both can also consume blood type O.
Blood type O was unable to feed off anyone, and is now effectively extinct. Anyone who had this blood type died of starvation, wiping out 8% of the world’s population.
Blood type AB, being a universal blood type, is not consumable by any other blood type. This allowed for those with AB blood type to become dominant. Able to feed on any blood type they choose, they became the elites of the new world society.
Everyone left relies on a pint of blood every hour. The government, now controlled by AB, attempts to distribute blood packs to all its citizens. However, greed has taken its toll and poverty is strive. Citizens of this new world must pay for the required blood, and many die due to lack of funds.
Only half of the world remains colonized, in an attempt to maintain a sense of stability with the smaller population. Countries no longer exist, and borders are defined by blood type. To prevent people from killing one another, blood types are separated into districts; named after those who inhabit it, such as A district.
A criminal underworld attempts to smuggle people across the borders in order to reunite people with their loved ones, who have different blood types. However, this method of money making will die out with the loss of cross-blood type relationships this generation holds onto.
In the non populated half of the world, which includes most arid and the less inhospitable regions, sits rows upon rows of spherical containers, which contain the remnants of the lost world we once knew.
Survivors, under the effect of cryogenic sleep, reside within these containers - immune to the condition the rest of the world is plagued with. They were contained early on, before the whole world felt the effects of the disease, in a hope that one day they would awaken and return society to its normality.
These dreams were lost, and the world was corrupted. Now, scavengers often frequent these sites in the hope of prying open these containers (or as they’re referred to colloquially, Tuna’s), and taking the spoils within.
==========================================
Just to reiterate, YOUR CHARACTER IS WITHIN A CONTAINER. I will not accept any character’s that start outside of this starting point, as it would be illogical for me to have different starting points for the players (plus, it allows me to set up the universe with a scene that I already have planned.)
This world is my own creation, and is still very much being developed. This means that your actions will effect the status of the world, to ensure an engaging story. This is also my first time at narrating anything like this, and I am in no way an experienced writer. I simply have an idea I like, and wish to share this and develop this with, I’m sure, some very creative players.
I implore anyone applying to use custom cards, as I will only be providing extremely basic backgrounds for template characters.
There is no supernatural abilities in this world.
There is no rush with your moves either; detail is far more important than pace. I won’t be doing much more than a scene a week, but this scene will be full of character development and plot progression.
Please try and create your own subplots, explaining your life prior to waking up in the container.
