The land of Fenaria is a dangerous place. Feudal lords wield their personal armies against one another, struggling over land and wealth in a seemingly endless series of border wars. It has been many ages since a king united the land to bring any kind of stability and safety to the people who live there.
A unique profession has arisen to take advantage of the chaos in Fenaria. They are simply called the Hunters. Sometimes they arebounty hunters, sometimes mercenaries, sometimes assassins. Mostly they hunt monsters, the great and terrible beasts which ravage the countrysides and kill defenseless townsfolk. When one of these legendary beasts appears, a village will offer princely sums for Hunters willing the bring it down.
Hunters are looked upon with as much fear and suspicion as awe and respect. They are needed to protect the people in these dangerous times, but many see them as dangerous and untrustworthy. Still, there is very good money to be made as a Hunter, if one has the skill and bravery to survive in the profession.
OOC INFORMATION:
This game takes place in a fairly dark fantasy setting. Think of Game of Thrones, or the Dragon Age or Witcher series as examples of tone. Magic and supernatural creatures exist, and while they are not terribly common, they will be encountered frequently in the story.
This game will likely stray into NSFW territory from time to time, so please be comfortable with that if applying. Here is a link to our current ‘Sprefs’ (thank you to Ssieth for coding) showing some idea of what to expect as far as the game’s content:

I do intend to give players a wide leeway in where they want to see the story go and what kind of content they want to include or avoid. I encourage participants to fill out their own Sprefs, and I will check the preferences of any participants who fill their own out and do my best to accommodate them. Here is a link to the Spref page for players for any who are interested.

I intend to accept five players for this, at least at the start. In order to keep things moving along at a decent pace, I will likely retire and replace anyone who goes five or more days without making a move or letting me know that they’ll be unavailable for a while.
Applications are not limited to the natures, strengths, weaknesses, and subplots provided. Please feel free to write your own. Feel free to invent your own homelands or hometowns for your characters, be as creative as you like.
