Welcome to Third Eye Open, a tight-knit, exclusive community of truth-seekers.
We do not accept the simplistic picture of the world presented to us by governments and mass media. We do not believe the lies meant to keep us complacent. We refuse to accept the wool that has been pulled over our eyes.
If you have seen something, heard something, or even felt something that you cannot explain, please share your story on our application page. If you are deemed credible you will be invited to join a growing network of professionals and amateurs alike seeking to reveal that which is hidden.
Pierce the veil!
This is a real-time, conspiracy-themed Storium game. In other words, if it’s 11:03AM on Thursday, January 15th, 2015 that’s the date and time in the game world right now. If a few days pass between moves then a few days have passed in the game world, too. Keep this in mind while posting!
Although the specifics will be determined during play, the main plot we’ll be collaboratively building will be focused on creepy supernatural occurrences and government conspiracies. As a narrator I am very open to players introducing ideas and rolling with them in an improvisational fashion, provided they are not extremely disruptive to established plot points or other players’ enjoyment.
The game page itself is a forum web page in the fictional world. Players will make in-character posts on this page, interacting with each other and describing their experiences. Challenges will typically be addressed by characters relating actions they have taken out in the world to the other forum members.
Your character page should resemble a forum profile, with a screen name, avatar, location, and biography that can reveal as much or as little about your character’s real life as they desire, but which should get across the basic concept of your character. These can even be lies!
You are encouraged to create your own cards. The ones provided are just suggestions.
Moves can flow naturally, with different players active at different times, making quick responses or longer descriptive posts. This is a bit of an experiment but I think it could prove fun.
