High within the mountains at the edge of the Eastern Kingdom lies the Red Dragon School, quite possibly the greatest martial arts academy in all the world. The masters there teach not only every widely practiced combat style, but impart the secrets of magic and sorcery upon those students accepted into the prestigious and demanding institution. More importantly, they are taught to use their abilities with restraint and honor, and to be fearless should the kingdom ever require them to come to the land’s defense.
OOC information: This is a Wuxia genre game taking place in a fictionalized fantasy version of feudal China. Within the setting, mastery of martial arts can allow for seemingly supernatural feats of speed and strength. Magic exists and is frequently incorporated into martial arts styles. Supernatural creatures inspired by Chinese mythology also exist within the setting.
Think of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, or Jade Empire as examples of the tone and setting.
All characters will begin as students at the Red Dragon School. In addition to describing your character’s background and personality, please mention your character’s preferred style of martial arts. This can be based on any real or fictional style of Chinese martial arts or can be an entirely original creation of your own. You will receive asset cards accordingly.
Please be prepared to make moves at least every 4-5 days. I will take 5 or less characters for this. Feel free to write your own nature, strength, weakness, and subplot cards if you’d like to use something beyond those provided.
