In the early-1970’s Tarkus Oil lost contact with a remote Alaskan drilling outpost. The locals reported that the drill had collapsed and the site was in ruins. When the company’s rescue team arrived, no bodies were found among the rubble.
Tarkus reportedly searched and searched but never discovered the bodies of the missing workers. Within months, the company had counted their losses, swept the event under the rug, and moved on. There was little news coverage and in a year’s time, the event was largely forgotten.
Thirteen years later, a rival oil company purchased the contract to drill in this remote region of the Alaskan tundra, but decided to take steps to ensure its investment would not result in a similar fate. You were hired as part of a small team sent to the site to perform one final investigation.
Hello, potential players. This game is going to involve otherworldy horrors and mysteries, and will be heavily influenced by John Carpenter’s The Thing, H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, etc. You’ll be working an investigation in a remote, isolated location full of untold dangers and unsolved mysteries.
If you’re submitting a character, please write a short scene for your background to give me an idea of what your character is about and a bit of their personality. This game will focus a lot on the psychological elements of the investigation, and I’m looking for writers interested in crafting a tale of true horror. Strong writers with a knack for cooperation, character development, and crafting a cohesive narrative are preferred. I’ll be accepting 3-5 players and will post scenes a few times a week.
