Nearly two hundred years since destruction of Wayfarer station and the beginnings of the Shadeist Crusade, Earth’s Galactic Empire has all but crumbled. An already diverse and genetically modified human population has splintered and diverged in unimaginable ways, and with the dissolution of the major trading organizations some worlds and systems have been left to continue on their own radical cultural and biological development. Until now.
One such system is the Euphrates system, which was named along with sister system Tigris for its unique fertility, with multiple planets already containing thriving Earth-like biological systems including native plant and animal life. The Euphrates system was first colonized three hundred years ago, and has had minimal contact with outsiders for the last hundred and fifty.
Now with the uneasy truce between the Shadeist Purity Confederation and the remnants of the Simonic Earth Empire, communication and trade routes are being reopened. The EFS Incipient has arrived at Euphrates IV to ostensibly initiate contact with the planet’s residents, but some crewmembers have their own agenda.
