Simferpol, better known as Simple Pool, was a small and quiet town with a long history of respectability. And then some damn fool just had to find a nugget of gold in his fishing net and throw civilization, as it had existed for hundreds of years, into a tailspin.
Immigrants with dreams of striking it rich, immigrants with dreams of fleecing the hopeful, and immigrants with every possible dream in between, are flocking to the once sleepy town, turning it, almost overnight, into a bustling (if poorly constructed) metropolis. Adventures of every nature are setting up shop along muddy streets in tents and lean-tos, while the biggest adventure of all lies up the river, deep in the heart of the mountains, and glitters the prettiest shade of yellow.
