Imagine if you could transport yourself inside any book just by reading it. World traveler and collector Jacob Howell has the ability thanks to an exotic lectern he picked up in a junkshop in Budapest. Not only could Jacob travel inside literature, he discovered that by bringing a real world book with him he could bring characters or objects from other novels to life just by reading a passage.
The world was no longer enough for Jacob. Now that he could travel to the Land of Oz or the Roman Empire in the company of Sherlock Holmes he became a recluse, keeping the magical book stand a secret.
In 1931 Jacob Howell disappeared and his family, friends and associates have arrived at his manor to deal with his estate. While gathered in the library the group discover Jacob Howell’s auto-biography sitting on an exotic looking lectern just waiting to be read.
