Based on a True Story…
In 1965, the US Central Intelligence Agency sent a group of spies to The Sanctuary, a natural fortress of mountains deep within the Himalayas. Their mission was to secretly climb one of the highest mountains in the world and plant a nuclear powered surveillance device to track Communist China’s nuclear testing.
In this story, you are a mountain climber turned Cold War spy. We will play to find out who this group of clandestine thrill seekers are and what happened to them on the cold, unforgiving cliffs of The Goddess of Joy, Nanda Devi.
This is a story of ordinary people put in extraordinary circumstances. You may be a CIA agent, but you’re probably not James Bond. You might just be a surgeon living in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, two kids and a set of hobbies that includes climbing mountains. The only hard set rule is characters should have climbing experience and at least one other skill useful for the mission.
This will be an action-adventure story with survival and mystery elements. Expect stressful situations, tough decisions and fatal consequences. Player’s characters may die but only with the player’s permission.
If anything happens in the story that you are not comfortable with, let me know and we will move away. I ask that players be considerate and respectful of one another’s boundaries.
