The Protectors are a group a warriors from Earth sworn to protect the Greater Universe. They travel interdimensionally to other Worlds to keep them from falling into chaos. Lately, the Dark Lord Ophlounda has been trying to destroy as many Worlds as he can.
The Protectors of Earth are one of the finest groups of Protectors in the Greater Universe. The Head Protector and his team have been chasing Ophlounda around the Universe trying to prevent him from causing even more harm than he already has.
But Ophlounda has a plan…the Protectors must stop him. They must protect the Worlds!
Note to old and new Storytellers:
The Protectors is intended to be a large group Storium! The more Storytellers the better. I have no limit to the number of players. You don’t need to have knowledge of previous Protector missions to join up, but please be aware that the story ran before Storium (see History of “The Protectors” below).
I’m intending for this Storium to be semi-cardless. Cards will only be played when necessary.
Before we start, I will post a recap of the story up to the point the story was suspended and transferred to Storium (see History of “The Protectors” below.)

Current Mission:
Save the World known as Cadaborurst from destruction at the hands of the Dark Lord, Terrance Ophlounda.
Details:
Key Planet: Cadaborurst
Mission Start: July 15th, 2016.
Mission End: When Ophlounda is stopped, but if we fail, the mission will end September 15th at Midnight (in game time, due to busy schedules, it’ll be hard to keep this strictly to real time).
World’s Timeline: Middle ages
Other info:
Cadaborurst is pronounced: Cad-a-bor-shht
Cadaborurst has a Human population.
It is a world still in the middle ages. They have knights, lords, ladies, and common folk, who function similarly to common fantasy style middle ages society.
Cadaborurst is a World that has a large group of Protectors like that of Earth’s.
With the exception of the Protectors, who are known for having “magical” (advanced tech) aid, most people have weapons common to the era.
Cadaborurst time is similar to Earth.
Other than the Protectors, no other groups found on Earth (The Agency, the Order, the Night Hoods, etc.) will be found on Cadaborurst.
Protectors who leave the Protectors Sancutary should wear the Protectors cloaks to mark them as Knights of the Protectors, otherwise they will be seen as commoner and may fall victim to common middle ages era problems. With the cloaks on, they are seen as great knights and are often treated well by most people (including kings).
None of the Protectors of Cadaborurst have special abilities.
Good luck, Protectors!
Andrew Ronzino, Head Protector of Earth
Protectors Lingo:
Lingo used by the Protectors that Storytellers need to familiarize themselves with:
The Protectors - The Protectors is a group of people (the Storytellers) from Earth who travel between the Worlds to help protect them from harm and destruction. Other worlds may have Protectors as well, and we may need to work with them from time to time, but this is rare. The Protectors have access to advanced alien and other Worldly technology. They operate in secret, certain governments and select groups of people are aware of their existence.
Protector Pavilion - The Protector Pavilion is the HQ for Earth’s Protectors. It’s located in New York City and is hidden from public knowledge. (It’s not real, so don’t go looking for it).
World - Worlds are other realities outside of our own. Each World is an entire universe in of itself, and has its own way of doing things. Anything out of the ordinary (different than Earth) will be listed in the Current Mission.
Key Planet - A World’s Key Planet is the primary planet in that universe. It is also what the World is named after. Our universe is called Earth because that is our Key Planet.
Greater Universe - The Greater Universe, or simply Universe with a capital “U”, is the system of Worlds as a whole, all the Worlds together. Universe with a lowercase “u” is an individual World and all that it contains.
Head Protector - The Head Protector is in charge of the rest of the group (This is played by the Storyteller (and Narrator) Andrew Ronzino (@KingGramJohnson). He sets the Missions, and is the keeper of the storyline. If the story gets out of hand, the Head Protector will step in and bring it back on track. The Head Protector is the only member of the team with the Travel Power and is the only one who can bring the group from one World to the next. He also reserves the right to kick Protectors (and Storytellers) out of the group if they are not acting like Protectors (or following the rules.)
Travel Power - This is the name of the power that the Head Protector has, without the Travel Power, the players can’t get to the different Worlds.
Protector Bands - Silver bracelets that function as group identification, data storage, communicator, and Universal translator. Unless noted otherwise, the Bands function in all Worlds. The Head Protectors’ Band is like the regular ones, but with it the Head Protector can monitor the health of anyone else wearing the Bands, and also access the digital copy of the Map of Realities.
Vanished Protectors - The Vanished Protectors were a myth on Earth. Only recently, on a World called Terra Omega, has evidence of their existence been found. They were said to be the first Protectors thousands of years ago, but then they vanished, never to be seen again. They were said to be very powerful. When they vanished, they left behind the modern Protectors with the Travel Power given to the Head Protectors so they can continue to protect the Greater Universe. The Vanished had mapped the known system of Worlds on an object called the Map of Realities. Some Protectors believe that the Vanished are still around, but remain hidden in some distant World. Others believe the Vanished to be long gone.
The Dark Lord Terrance Ophlounda (AKA Ohpy) - Ophlounda is the antagonist of the Protectors (his main actions are written by the Storyteller, Andrew Ronzino). He was once a Protector, but left the group and became the Dark Lord. His goal is to cause enough destruction in the Universe to bring back the Vanished Protectors. What he will do if the Vanished come back, no one knows. He has the Travel Power, as well as the original copy of the Map of Realities. Head Protector Ronzi has a digital copy of the Map.
The History of “The Protectors”:
The Protectors started out as an internet interactive story experiment in 2012. I wanted to see if a group a creative people would use their Facebook walls, notes, statuses, personal blogs, YouTube, and other forms of internet social media interaction to tell the story of The Protectors, a group of interdimentional protectors of the Greater Universe. People from all over were free to come up with characters and insert them into the Protectors storyline. It ended up working out well. The Storytellers (those who were actively writing for The Protectors) used The Protectors’ Page on Facebook as the hub for all the converging point of views of their characters. It became bigger than I ever thought it would; so many people had gotten in on the Protectors’ interactive story experience. Sadly, in 2013, after five full stories, I became far too busy to facilitate the influx of stories coming in for the missions of The Protectors. So I put the story on hold until I had time and found a better way to run the group. Then came Storium, and the time has come for The Protectors to rise again. We are continuing where we left off…
That’s about it! Enjoy and have fun!
