Sometimes freedom is just an illusion.
In an advanced future ruled entirely by feuding corporate giants, all citizens must affiliate themselves with one of the many corporate factions. The Corporations treat their citizens right - each have a secure job, healthy income and a happy life. Unaffiliated people are shunned - despised by all and given little to no rights whatsoever in society.
But the Unaffiliated know, from their secret Underground hideout hidden from all except their members, that there are sinister things going on behind the images of an evolving, ever more peaceful society. Beyond the mask of freedom lies nothing but hidden chains.
Most of the Unaffiliated couldn’t care less about what happens Aboveground, but a small faction, the Paladin Guard, aren’t content with it. This small organization of highly trained operatives are dedicated towards foiling the Corporations’ nefarious plots.
Technology is futuristic: we’re talking energy pistols, androids, personal AR HUDs, and completely electric vehicles.
In this story, you play an Unaffiliated searching for the Underground, who is then brought into the Paladin Guard.
