The heroes of the last generation have hung their armor as a decoration and put memories of adventuresome sword-swinging behind them in favor of a peaceful retirement with all the well-earned accoutrements of fame and the thankfulness of their patron Lords and Ladies.
Shadows are forming beyond the mountains, however, that will not permit this continued rest. The King’s War rages far to the east and the light of those flames is driving the dark things in that distant land this way.
With the latest generation of heroes enlisted into the King’s service there are a precious few - those capable of battling this new evil. Unfortunately capability is not the question, but willingness.
