Paradise City is one of the greatest destinations for tourists. With attractions for the family, college kids, the intellectuals, the thrill-seekers, and anyone else: Paradise City has what you’ve been looking for. You can hear world-class concerts at theaters all over the city, enjoy thrilling rides at over a dozen amusement parks, see some of the rarest animals on Earth, and sample the finest cuisine that any chef could make you anywhere.
That might be the reality for tourists, but for the locals, life is a grind of poverty, government neglect, and the very-present threat of The Hell’s Army. The black-and-red-clad gangsters dress subtly enough that tourists never notice, but the locals can pick them out a mile away.
The Gang’s new leader, the so-called Lady Glassya, is a good leader who is likely to take the gang’s oppression of the locals to a new level. She’s more brutal than her father, and worst of all, a hell of a lot smarter.
Whispers among the locals say that this time, The Hell’s Army is getting some help from someone, but nobody knows who. The police protections for locals are all but non-existent, the next step is going to strip those away entirely with the luck locals have.
Can an unlikely bunch of locals, and perhaps a few tourists uncover Glassya’s secret weapon before she can unleash it on the city?
This is a crime thriller in a fictional tourist town in the United States. I’ve noticed a lot of real-world tourist towns are really crummy outside of places where tourists go.
