The world of Kholn is a harsh world where the gods have abandoned the human race to their inevitable fate, one of death and damnation. The beautiful cities of sprawling empires have all fallen, leaving only a handful of Standing Cities as hollow reminders of a brighter and more peaceful age. Wars between the Standing Cities is an ever-present threat, each city ruled by the noble families and wealthy merchants. From the ashes of the First Empire rises an army led by a young girl calling herself Empress, marching across the Scorched Wastes to reclaim what has been lost for thousands of years. The northern tribes, engaged in a never-ending struggle against one another, strive to find the one among them who is worthy of being a true ruler.
For years you have lived your life as best as you could. But your destiny is greater than mere survival. Soon you will find yourself a part of events that will shape the future of the world.
