Alyson is the only remaining family member to withhold the extremely wealthy Ackerledge estate. All other Ackerledge members have either died, gone missing, or had been detained and sent to an asylum.
The young woman hasn’t left her mansion in fifteen years, and a multitude of rumors have spread throughout the country about her. Some say she is just as insane as any of the other Ackerledges. Others say she is more beautiful than any woman. There is even a rumor or two that the entire Ackerledge family is a cultist group that performs strange rituals in the basements of their mansion, hidden deep in the forest. Whether any of these statements are true is uncertain.
However, what is certain is that she is now of an age to marry. Many men have traveled far and wide to come court her, to marry her for her vast fortune. Most don’t even make it into her home, and those who are welcomed to stay never stay long, and when they leave, they never mention it again. Clearly, something mysterious is afoot.
Whether you are here by chance, here to resolve any rumors, or are after the Ackerledge estate, here you are, at the polished iron gates.
This is, obviously, an Alice in Wonderland inspired story, that takes place in Edwardian/Victorian Era. Supernatural happenings do exist in this world, and will occur in the story, so you may incorporate that into your character (For example, a paranormal investigator) but I’d prefer your character be human. This is my first game narrating/hosting, so it may be a bit rough around the edges, but it’s about having fun more than anything, right??
