After travelling across the world, the highly esteemed Cheval Carnival has finally set up shop in Toronto, Canada, one of the last stops of its tour. The papers should have been raving about the extravagant performances and fabulous exhibits, but instead, after opening night, they were plastered with the story of four different, yet simultaneous disappearances.
In a few days, after all the shock had settled, all four bodies turned up on the roadside… dead. However, what made them truly peculiar was the fact that the left arm of every corpse was dismembered from the body and nowhere to be found. They’ve remained missing ever since. Law enforcement was quick to react, but with so few leads they’ve made little to no progress. All they know is that whatever happened over the course of those few days had been planned.
In the wake of this tragedy, the community has been more eager than ever to attend the Carnival, trying to lighten the dreary tone that had washed over the city. The timing couldn’t be more perfect. However, it was during all this bustle that the next four victims were taken…
Kidnapped, examined, prodded and branded, these four strangers must recover from their torturous encounter with a cult whilst simultaneously dealing with their short-term amnesia; the last current hope for the police to move forward with their investigation.
However, as they start to go back about day to day life, peculiar things begin to occur and they realize there might be more truth to the markings on their arms then first appeared.
