Caducus, Caduca, Caducum: Adj (1) [falling or fallen]. (2) [inclined or ready to fall]; esp. [destined to die , devoted to death]; in gen., [transitory, frail, perishable].
Thus Cadecus, once a land whole now a land ultimately divided and ruled by the darker forces of life. This once was a land rejoiced, fled to by the misjudjed and mistreated, protected by the blessings of angels and cared for by the creatures whom lived on its earth.
Now, it is a depreciating world of stretching shadows. The evil have raked their claws across its surface, claiming it easily from the dwindling hands of the good. Poverty and sickness has spread. Theft is more common than wine and blood is drawn for the most simplistic, and petty of reasons - and for the cheapest of monies. Disloyalty and deception are on the rise while beings of good nature, those honest and with compassion left in their hearts, are burrowing down in the depths of civilization, hiding.
An omen is brewing. One of great magnitude which could foretell the final end of Cadecus altogether. The oracles have become holed up in their homes, gazing at crystals. The all knowing have trapped themselves behind firmly shut doors. Through their windows, their eyes reveal what they feel. A troubled world could finally come to a troubled end. The evil must be stopped before its widespread fingers become a suffocating cloak.
There is one way to do it. The legend. Which is nothing more than a fairytale.
Or is it…?
