In the year 2015 the apocalypse came. But in the year 2018 the apocalypse… ended? As it turned out, humanity was a lot more resilient than Lucifer anticipated. Last time he was on earth everyone was poor and starving except for the scarce few nobility. After 3 years of trying to throw fireballs at tanks and citizens with firearms it ended. The demon spawn have laid down their demon arms and are stuck on our mortal plane. Lucifer closed the portals to hell and demons were in search of jobs and homes in their new world.
As it turned out, when the portals to Hell closed the demon’s connections to Lucifer were severed and they gained full free-will. They quickly pleaded to the humans to let them live in their world instead of being put to the slaughter and human leaders agreed. Where are you supposed to dispose of millions of demon corpses anyways?
It’s 2024 now, many demons have found refuge in the world and have managed to get entry-level jobs and high-profile security positions, but racism and inequality has made many situations hostile for the “Earthbound”as they’ve began to call themselves.
Alongside the integration of demons into human culture, magic has sprung up as a somewhat commonplace part of everyday life. However, because the concepts of magic don’t transfer well into human logic it is commonly young persons and drunks who have the most control over it.
