You are a thief. Maybe that’s a bit of an understatement; you are a Thief with a capital T, one of the feared and renowned Dangerous Dead. Two parts thieves’ guild, one part shadowy cult, you and your team prowl the haunted Victorian-fantasy city of Doskvol and complete heists to advance the Dead’s goals. What are these goals? Well, you don’t know. You do what your bosses tell you, even if you don’t like it. You owe them. After all, they brought you back to life.
This game is a genre soup. It a Victorian/urban fantasy/Gothic horror/heist game based loosely on the Blades in the Dark tabletop RPG. You’ll be playing undead characters who, in life, were expert thieves and criminals, and who have been brought back to life for some unknown purpose. This story will explore how characters react to being forced to commit crimes under duress. Maybe your character would have robbed the rich nobles’ bank anyway, but what about the old lady’s purse? Would you kill if your life depended on it?
