An alternate history United States. A Wild West crawling with boogeymen. Wizards and artificers from the big city come to claim the frontier. In this version of the West, elves, dwarves, and goblins live alongside humans and their automaton creations. Magic came back to the world about 30 years ago, and things have never been the same.
In the winter forests of the Dakota territory, 1875, two travelers from the south encounter a remote, hidden tribe of Sioux dealing with attacks on all fronts. On the one hand the United States is at their doorstep, ready to send them to reservations and take their land. On the other, a splinter tribe has begun rituals to gain dark power. There’s evil in these woods, both mortal… and supernatural.
