The King is dead. Long live the Queen!
It is the year 1532, and the kingdom of Armonia mourns the unexpected death of King Harold VI. His daughter Margaret is now sovereign of the land – and she is only ten years old.
These are tumultuous times. With religious conflicts and rival claimants causing trouble at home and foreign enemies stirring abroad, the young queen will need guidance if Armonia is to survive. However, the royal courts of young monarchs are a notoriously dangerous place and you are never sure who exactly you can trust.
The lessons from Armonia’s hundreds of years of history show that a regent will inevitably cause chaos and eventually seek the throne for themselves. Thus, in secret decree put down before his death, the old King declared that a council of advisors share the power of regency until the Queen comes of age.
Six members of Margaret’s court are selected to take on this responsibility. Together they must ensure that Armonia prospers until the Queen safely reaches her 18th birthday. But they each have agendas of their own…
