The world of humans and monsters intertwined years ago. Discrimination is rampant, monsters, though mixed with the rest of the world. Many cities only allow them to be hired under the table. Most monsters are forced into illegal work. Those that pass as humans are able to get steady jobs as long as not mentioning it. Some are accepted because of certain features. Angels, Tieflings, Gorgons, and Demons are the most prominently discriminated against. Vampires, Nymphs, Elves, and Succubi are most accepted and get by easily
The world is broken, those who are different are thoroughly shattered and thrown to the curb. Used by the government for testing is common. Those who fall beyond the minority are lucky. A group of young 16-18 year-olds with very different life experiences run into each other in a gas station in their small town. They all need to get out of the town. One of them has a car. One of them has money. One of them knows where to go. The starting place is Hartstown PA, ending place is L.A. with some family friend.
