“If you make every game a life and death proposition, you’re going to have problems. For one thing, you’ll be dead a lot.”
-Dean Smith
Sometimes, gods will get rather bored with their situations. Other times, they just need to meddle with human affairs. But, sometimes, there is a bit of a mix with both conditions.
In the current world, the overlord known as Deus Ex, has been presiding over the mortal realm. Unknown to most, shown to few. He alone has decided the actions of the universe and can perfectly chart the future with no flaw. But times are getting hard for the overlord. Deus Ex has noticed that his own power and presence has started to weaken. He is nearing death each and every day.
So, in order to create a brand new god for the mortal domain, Deus Ex has created a game which has not been seen before. The game is titled the Survival Game. Deus Ex has been in contact with twelve separate mortals, getting to know them inside in out, before picking these twelve to play in his game.
The victor gets the grand prize of becoming the new god.
Each contestant, whether they liked it or not, when thrown into the game and forced to compete against each other. The only way to win was simple enough to understand: Kill everyone other than yourself and be the last man standing. Each person would be given their own advantage as well. Something which Deus Ex had called the Future Diaries. These diaries, however accessed, give the reader a reading of the future based on the unique capability of the diary. The entries tended to reflect something about the user.
After a short meeting with the contestants, everyone is thrust back to the mortal realm and expected to kill each other for the throne of god. If no one is crowned within the next fourteen days, however, Deus Ex has promised the world will come to an end. So the people either play his game, or watch the demise come upon them.
This is a game based off the show/manga known as Mirai Nikki/Future Diary. The story will not follow the show/books but rather a parallel universe where a different competition had taken place entirely.
There are two choices to be in this game: You can either be a diary user, competing with the other players who are diary users, or be a bystander, possibly uninvolved or helping a diary user. I don’t expect all twelve diary user slots to be filled, but understand there are ONLY twelve diary users for this game.
If you are going to be a diary user, please inform me as to how your diary will work exactly. Your diary cannot tell everything that is about to happen, mind you, but must be able to tell you the future based on a character quirk. Things like a diary that focuses on someone else because your character stalked them would be a good example. So you can only see the future as it relates to that person. This limits the power of the diary and creates a level playing field for all the players in the game. If you need another example, check out any existing characters in the game currently who are diary users or PM me.
This will be a rotating narration game. Looking to exchange the narration with people so everyone who wants to compete can. This way we have a narrator with a character uninvolved and can have a perspective not clouded by liking their own character. A victor will be chosen with some unbiased opinion hopefully.
The game itself will start with a meeting with Deus Ex, where all the players will be able to introduce themselves before things get a bit bloody. So feel free for things to get character developed in this time and further.
