THE PREMISE
The characters are members of a band of adventures fighting to survive the danger and mystery of a galaxy rising from the fall of the Human Imperium. The assumption is that the characters are established allies and companions, and have been traveling together for some time. We will follow them as the traverse dangerous worlds, carving out bold stories as they go.
THE GENRE
You could best call this a ‘space-western’ since – in addition to the sci-fi setting – a lot of the themes and tropes from western cinema and fiction will feature in our story. Think Firefly (tv series) and/or Serenity (film) and you’ll have a pretty good fix on what this story should feel like.
Other inspirations and influences: Guardians of the Galaxy (comic, film) Star Wars (film trilogy), Mass Effect (video game)
TONE
I’d like for us to shoot for griping drama with a splash of humor. Any recent Marvel Studios film is a good example of this.
