GAME INFO: The planet Vysros is a remote jungle world on the Outer Rim. Other than being home to a small human population, the world is perfectly unremarkable, with only one spaceport and few natural resources for trade. The population is small and scattered, eking out a living among the wild, dangerous jungle, and most live their whole lives in the same village they’re born in.
Your particular village is called Kireen. It’s located deep in the jungle, surrounded by rushing rivers and dangerous beasts that residents learn early on how to avoid or defeat. While most are hunters and crafters, some are born with the ability to use the Force. Though there are no Jedi to train them, those who learn basic control over their abilities become Mystics, the spiritual leaders of their villages.
On their eighteenth birthday, all residents of Kireen go through their Proving, a trial where they must survive three days alone in the jungle, and though it’s dangerous and some do not return, the Proving is an essential step before reaching adulthood.
But for the past two months, not one of the youths has returned from their Proving. This alone is uncommon, and concerning. But to make things worse, even some experienced hunters have been disappearing. And now, the lead hunter hasn’t been seen in weeks.
The village elders have organized a group to go into the forest and find out what happened. You are one of these volunteers.
Narrator’s Notes: While this game takes place in the Star Wars universe (in no specific era), it might not feel that way for a while. We’ll start with no space travel, no Jedi, and very little technology (even blasters are rare, and lightsabers almost unheard of). But the stakes and universe will get much bigger as we play - just remember that the greatest heroes have lowly beginnings. :)
I’ve provided character cards, but feel free to create your own. Backgrounds don’t have to be elaborate or lengthy if you enjoy getting to know your character as you play, and if there’s someone from your character’s background that’s important, give them a mention and some info. Odds are good that I’ll bring them in to interact with the group.
