A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
STAR WARS: LIBERTY
It is a dark time for the galaxy. With the fall of the GALACTIC REPUBLIC and the rise of EMPEROR PALPATINE and his EMPIRE, countless planets suffer under Imperial tyranny.
But there is still hope for the galaxy. Even as Palpatine’s fist closes, there are those who slip through his fingers, determined to throw off the yoke of oppression. Many more forge an existence on the very edges of space, where the brave, lucky, and resilient can make a living free from the Empire.
You plan to be one of these people. Huddled aboard the LIBERTY, a transport ship headed for the OUTER RIM, you and dozens of refugees look to the freedom of the stars.
But the Liberty is pursued. Behind you, another ship closes in….

Star Wars: Liberty will draw on Fantasy Flight Games’ Edge of the Empire setting to tell a story set in the wider Star Wars universe during the Galactic Civil War. There’ll be shootouts, dogfights, adventure, betrayal, secrets, and mysteries.
I’m aiming for a feel somewhere between Firefly and Star Wars: Rebels - a somewhat scruffy crew making their way in a wider galaxy. They’re not heroes (at least, not yet) or villains, but people trying to make a life for themselves among the stars. At first, the group won’t know one another, but they’ll quickly be drawn together by circumstance.
The game is set in 5BBY - about 5 years before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The Empire has a strong grip on the galaxy, but is still consolidating power. There’s no Death Star, and the organisation that will become the Rebel Alliance is still in its infancy. I’ve chosen this period as it will give the players a chance to directly shape the future of the galaxy while keeping a bit of distance from canonical characters and events.
I’m looking for a group of players with an interest in both the setting and the type of stories I think suit Star Wars so well. A complete knowledge
Like Disney with the new canon, I’ll be drawing on the EU where I think appropriate but preferring canon where there’s a conflict. You can generally assume that most Legends canon will fly unless it’s been contradicted recently. That said, I’m not that fussed when it comes to sticking to what’s written - feel free to create people, planets, organisations, and anything else you need for your character. If you can work in something canon, great! If not, don’t sweat it.
