Perhaps the only prudent move he made in all of this was to conduct the initial experiment on this secluded island. It’s hard to say. That choice might be the only reason we are even here to speculate… here at least for the present… for THIS present that is…
The time distortion has done strange things to this bit of tropical paradise off the coast of Sri Lanka. A ragtag group of dream accepted an invitation to the mysterious island. They soon find themselves stranded and alone.
The story opens as the characters congregate, summoned to the laboratory of Dr. Woody Rutherford. If they accept the offer, they must triumph against threats that seem to echo their own and each others inner demons. Their mission: find and return with another scientist lost to the labrynth of time. They have been brought together to rescue or apprehend this individual before he unwittingly unravels the very fabric of time. Who is it they are sent to find? It is none other than the very Dr. Rutherford who stands before them now, describing their dire situation!
This deck describes the mysterious island as that asymptote approaching both zero and infinity hung between the axis’ of time and psyche. Expect intriguing characters and settings, but the truth behind it all is yours to write!
(A note: I thought that by limiting our story to one island, we could better focus a story that involves time travel.. and which might otherwise sprawl out of control… I think it’s an ambitious first foray already. This does start to remind one of “Lost”, a show which I have not seen more than one episode of… but fear not, we are making our own story and any initial similarities to other stories isentirely coincidental….)
