When the sun goes down, it’s like the city transforms into an entirely different place. During the day, people may call them freaks or monsters - but breathing or otherwise, they’re just looking for a piece of the pie like anyone else. Hell, some bloodsucker starts leaving a trail of bodies, and the local vampires are just as likely to help out the neighborhood Van Helsing; that kind of attention’s good for nobody.
There’s plenty of room in the dark for all sorts of secrets, though. Some of them are just more dangerous than others.
