Ignorance, the bane of many an existence, especially mine. All of you, walking all over us as if you own your puny world. But you don’t, or at least you didn’t before we all fell asleep. Like parasites we walk with you, feeding on your pain and insecurities. And when we are full, we awake. And resume the form that you originally occupied, except for those select few.
Shadow tamers They call themselves, they feed us to bursting and refuse us our host. Their minds reject us and manipulate our powers to their will, they fight us like we do not belong here. This planet is ours, not yours. Some of us go willingly, others fight until both host and shadow are destroyed. Me? I now stand over my host, I stand the strongest of the shadows. Although he fought once I now stand victorious, I alone control this body, My host is gone, I stand with nothing in my way.
This game is a drama-fantasy-mild-horror-mystery. I know right? That’s a lotta stuff to be, anyways.
The main story is that everyone’s shadow is a different being, a parasite basically. They feed off of our negative emotions, fear, anger, resentment, melencholy, even pain. They sleep for most of their lives, then. Sometimes, during a traumatic event or a time of great stress. They wake up, basically anytime they get full enough that they don’t need to hibernate anymore. Once they’re awake they proceed to try and take over their hosts body. If they succeed, its almost impossible to tell. Unless you know what to look for. The main changes is their shadow looks… Weird, its hardly noticeable unless you’re paying attention. Also, they are more sensitive to light than the host was originally, their eyes don’t reflect light either, They appear dull and tired. Other than this you can’t tell them from the original host. Of course shadows generally have their own special range of emotions, a set that humans cannot understand. Their emotions have no name of course.
Many shadow takeovers are the cause of various homocides and insanity cases. Some will try to awaken their brethren, though a few attempt to keep humankind safe, if only to study their “odd” behaviors.
Of course, sometimes hosts minds reject the shadows control completely, or the host will gain control over the shadow through sheer willpower, the latter is more rare.
When that happens, the host gains control over the shadow and its powers, these powers can be catastrophic if given to the wrong people. Of course the shadows will still attempt to assert control, and if not properly dealt with they can still manipulate the mind of the host, causing huge amounts of damage to everything it can.
Your characters are all highschool students, 15 to 17. Be sure to keep the backstory angsty, you can’t just wake up a shadow for no reason, make it interesting!

Plot twists are encouraged, Profanity is expected, there may be some gore. I have a few planned battles, if all goes well. Also, some more info on powers. The more powerful the shadow, the more Intense the talent of the host, and the harder it is to control due to the strength of the shadow itself.
The first scene will be in a classroom, with a few menial tasks. Just to help you get comfortable with your character. After that the real story will get going.
