Red Mountain Dungeon has stood as the most prominent and popular dungeon for treasure seeking adventurers and work seeking monsters alike in the Red Mountain valley for over forty years. Every few days a party of adventurers delves into the depths of the dungeon to navigate treacherous traps, defeat the mighty minions and hopefully be able to snag themselves some amazing loot from the vault at the heart of the dungeon. Few parties have succeeded in completing the many floors of the Red Mountain and fewer still have defeated the final boss; Flamescar the Snaggle-toothed, a gargantuan red dragon who guards the greatest treasure of Red Mountain, the Red Ruby of Red Mountain.
Sadly, you are not these adventurers. You are a proud member of the maintenance team, the group that keeps Red mountain Dungeon working like a well-oiled deathtrap. Day in and day out you may keep its halls clear of body parts and blood stains, you may be responsible for reviving and healing the minions or you may be a minion yourself, or you may be involved with keeping the many traps primed and ready.
Everything has been going smoothly in Red Mountain for a while, but during your shift today you’ve noticed that there’s one less body than what’s listed in the logs for the most recent adventuring foray and a few maintenance goblins aren’t reporting in like they should. There very well may be a stray adventurer that didn’t die as they should have and is currently wandering around causing havoc on the clean-up detail. If news of this reaches management this could mean docked pay, demotion or worse yet, termination.
