Are we each destined to live for one brief lifetime? Can any person live eternally, or live again? There are some in the old worlds of Babylonia and Egypt who profess to know these answers. You may meet them on your own quest for eternal life.
Above is the intro text which greeted players of Rivers of Light, a game that was originally released in 1984 as part of Stuart Smith’s Adventure Construction Set. As one might expect from a mid-1980’s CRPG, it had some rather strict technological limitations, but the game was nonetheless pretty interesting and contained a wide variety of myths and stories from the ancient Middle East. It has been mostly forgotten now, so it’s not likely to receive a HD remaster any time soon, but, perhaps fitting the game’s theme, why not give it new life as a Storium game?
