In every city in every country, there are beings that once were limitless. Muses. Gods. Deities. They personified aspects in ways man can never comprehend.
Are they gods? Not in the way we understand them as religions have taught us. They are not Greek, nor Catholic, though their actions have in the past inspired and shaped such beliefs.
Are they good? Evil? Perhaps both. Perhaps neither.
Are they immortal?
Everything has an end. But ending does not necessarily mean death.
This game is a glimpse at the lives of such beings. Each player will represent an entity of immense power, their very existence a representation of an aspect of reality. But this personification does not define them. Instead, it simply represents the very thing that they have absolute power over.
This aspect is their Strength.
The game seeks to emulate the experiential and metaphorical explorations done in works like Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, as well as the rpg Nobilis (though I’ve never played it). The players are Icons, powerful beings that represent aspects of reality itself.
But in this game, there is no major antagonist. No war between divine and infernal forces to stop. No over-arching threat that needs to be stop.
Instead, here is a chance to explore humanity as something we can never fully grasp.
Welcome to Quid Pro Quo.
In character creation, Choose a Nature among the list. For Strengths and Weaknesses and Subplots, however, feel free to create a new one.
